Dr Bijan Farpour completed his training at the University Hospitals Geneva (HUG) in Switzerland and qualified as an FMH Specialist in Ophthalmology in 2000. He later undertook three years’ post-graduate training on the cornea and refractive surgery at the Save Sight Institute – Sydney Eye Hospital, in Australia. On his return to Geneva in 2001, he was appointed Deputy Head of Clinic at the HUG Ophthalmology Clinic before setting up a private practice and continuing his work as Consultant Physician with the same clinic.

Dr Farpour co-founded the Vision Laser (Refractive Surgery Centre) in 2003, and the Vision Clinique (Outpatient Ophthalmological Surgery Centre) in 2005. As an ophthalmic surgeon, he has extensive experience in the field of eye surgery, and more particularly in refractive, cornea and cataract surgery. In 2017, he co-founded the Vision Rive Droite ophthalmology centre.

He was the first ophthalmologist in Geneva to carry out Femto-LASIK and Trans-PRK (refractive surgery performed entirely by laser), and to undertake keratoconus treatment (by means of corneal cross-linking). He has a deep interest in innovation in the field of ophthalmology, and is devoted to ensuring patient satisfaction.

In his free time, Dr Farpour enjoys spending time with his family and two children, sailing, skiing and playing basketball.
