A cataract is a clouding of the lens that leads to decreased sharpness of vision. It is very common in older people and may result in blindness.
The symptoms are:
a gradual loss of sight (which cannot be corrected with glasses)
glare and halos perceived around light sources
an impression of mistiness
double vision
a change in perception of colours
Treatment:
When the problem prevents normal functioning, the lens is replaced surgically with an implant.
Choice of implant:
There are several types of implant, some of which will be covered by your health insurance, while others are not. These implants make it possible to correct most sight problems.
